Gypsum Association Staff

Steve has enjoyed a professional career entirely within the manufacturing realm, from food and beverage production to consumer and industrial lubricants and coatings manufacturing. For the past 25 years he has focused on building products and systems. He spent 13 years with global building materials supplier Lafarge where he served in marketing and communications leadership roles with a purview of the U.S. and Canada. While at Lafarge he was based in the Gypsum and Cement divisions and fulfilled assignments serving other Lafarge businesses, including Concrete Products, Ready Mixed Concrete and Aggregates. Prior to joining the Gypsum Association in 2013 he oversaw marketing and membership for the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), which advocates for design-build project delivery. Steve holds an MBA from Marymount University, an Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) from the Public Relations Society of America and is a U.S. Green Building Council LEED Green Associate.

Michael's responsibilities include overseeing and coordinating technical publications, standards, and testing efforts for the Gypsum Association. Prior to joining the Association, he oversaw sustainability, compliance, code and regulatory matters as Corporate Manager, Stewardship for plumbing industry manufacturer Oatey. Before joining Oatey, Michael was in Tremco’s Commercial Sealants & Waterproofing Division for 10 years. Active within numerous ASTM committees, he is also a member of ASHRAE SSPC 189.1. Michael holds both a MS and BS in Chemistry from The University of Akron.

Susan has worked within the design and construction industry for more than 20 years. She has held communication and information positions within the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) where she founded LAND Online and The Dirt, before becoming a staff writer-editor for Landscape Architecture magazine. She also served in public relations roles at the Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), and the landscape architecture firm, Oehme, van Sweden & Associates. She joined the Gypsum Association (GA) in 2014, and currently serves as Director of Stewardship and External Affairs. She holds an MA in American history from American University.

Greg has more than 15 years of experience in building products and building product services, most recently at Bluegrass Materials (formerly Lafarge North America). Prior to Bluegrass, he held commercial account management roles at Allied Building Products, Cassady Pierce Company and The Home Depot, providing consultative services to architects and contractors on building materials. In his current role, Greg addresses technical questions received via phone and email, plays an integral role in publications development, and enhances gypsum industry representation within technical and consensus organizations. Greg is a graduate of New York University.

Vianney brings more than 15 years of experience in the construction materials industry. She comes to us from Harford Minerals, Joppatowne, MD, where she served as Accounting Manager while also overseeing HR, office administration and inbound/outbound sales. Prior to Harford Minerals, Vianney held inside sales, billing and dispatch roles at Bluegrass Materials/Martin Marietta Materials, Lafarge Aggregates and Aggregate Industries. In her role as Operations Administrator, Vianney oversees all accounting, general office, and administrative duties. Vianney holds a B.S. degree in Accounting from Towson University, Towson, Maryland.
