Section II of GA-600 discusses the fire resistive properties of gypsum and explains the difference between regular gypsum board and type X gypsum board. It also contains information on how fire resistance tests are conducted on a variety of different systems that incorporate gypsum board. Ancillary material contained in the program supplements that contained in GA-600 and explains further aspects of fire testing.
